Growing in Passion for the Lord

The Church is a living thing. Just like any other living thing, if they are healthy they will grow.

When the members are healthy, the cellgroup will be healthy. When the cellgroups are healthy, the church will be healthy.

How do you know if you are growing in your faith?

John 2:17
Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.”

A healthy church begins with her passion for God.

Passion= an intense emotion, strong feeling, great devotion, definite conviction which fuels and motivates us toward compelling actions.

Romans 12:11
not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

2 Corinthians 7:11
For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

2 Corinthians 9:2
for I know your willingness, about which I boast of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has stirred up the majority.

Acts 2:40-47
And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received His word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

Areas to be passionate about:

1) We need to be passionate about our spiritual devotion.

Acts 2:41-42

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

2) We need to be passionate about our services to others.

Acts 2:44
Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,

3) We need to be passionate about our own lives.

Acts 2:46-47
