Getting Real

Date: 14 October 2007
Speaker: Pastor Kong Hee
Venue: City Harvest Church

2 Corinthians 4:18
While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Everything on earth is temporary. Step into the spiritual realm. Circumstance is also temporary. Don't get attached to your circumstances, they come and go.

If you are not careful, your reality could become a limiter to your life.

Proverbs 23:6-7
Do not eat the bread of a miser, nor desire his delicacies; For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “ Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

Reality is not fixed, and is different for every person.

Genesis 39:1-3
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. And Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him down there. The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. (even a servant can be prosperous!)

The greatest prison is in your mind.

John 3:12-13
If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? Noone has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Romans 10:10-15
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!”
