The Love Of God

Date: 19 August 2007
Speaker: Dr Joyce Meyer
Venue: City Harvest Church

Matthew 22:36-38
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.

Loving God is more than just words. It is to obey His commandments and fulfilling His Will for you.

2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Matthew 22:39-40
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

He sent His son for you, so who are you to despise yourself? You are not free until you know that you do not have to impress anybody. God wants you to let Him flow through you and become a blessing to the other people around you.

1 Corinthians 12:31
But earnestly desire the best gifts (which is, Love). And yet I show you a more excellent way.

1 Corinthians 14:1
Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

You may be well-clothed on the outside, but on the inside you are in rags. God looks at your Spirit, and so does Satan.

Mark 8:34
When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Be willing to die to self.

Revelation 16:15
“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;

Meet people's needs and treat people right.

Love your enemies, feed them and bless them.
